February 27^th, the school of international education held 2017 spring semester opening ceremony at Hongmiao campus. Dean Wang Shaoguo, Party branch Secretary and deputy dean Li Fenglei, deputy dean Zhu Hong and director of Teaching & Research Office Liu Wenzheng attended the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony started at 9 o'clock, dean Wang Shaoguo gave the welcome speech. Represented the school of international education, dean welcomed all the new students of class 2017, and hoped them would adapt the Chinese cultural environment, involve the campus life smoothly, feel the beauty of Beijing, make more friends and be the communicators of international friendship. He wished all the new students would acquire more knowledge and obtain more joy and friendships.

Professor Yao Jingjing represented all the faculties gave a speech. She welcomed all the new students and gave a brief introduction about studying Chinese language in courses, teaching and cultural practices. Student representative Bai Fei, who is from Central African Republic, gave a speech. He made himself an example to introduce the study life in CUEB and he wished all the students would make great progress in the new semester. Next, vice dean Zhu Hong introduced all the related departments and contact information for students.

During student orientation, Mr. Zhao Yue, manager of student accommodation management, introduced related services and regulations in living on campus. Mr. Wu Sihong, from security office introduced laws and regulations in safety, drug interdiction and transportation. The attended students listened carefully and made records on important information. All the new students met their advisors and received textbooks after the opening ceremony.   

According to statistics, 116 new students registered in language program in the spring semester of 2017, rise of 16% than last year. To face the fiercely competition, CUEB takes great importance on international educations. Under the support of University, the school of International education carries out the''Study Aborad at CUEB'' program positively and pushes the ''Project of Attractiveness Promotion for International Education''. As the level of Chinese teaching growth steadily, campus environment got further improvement, more and more students from the globe would like to apply for studying at CUEB.
